LogoThrive

History / Questions regarding the Founder

Hello, I’m Paulo Jorge Lima, founder of LOGOTHRIVE, born in Sao Tome and currently living in the UK. Since I was 7 years old I was always very curious, imaginative and I liked to create my toys. But that was something common among Santomean children at that time until I created my product and started selling it to my neighbors from the age of 9, late 1995. It was an oil lamp made with a lamp instead of a tin. Before traveling to Portugal, I showed my creation to a friend, who immediately showed a lot of admiration and so he too started to create the same product and sell it. At 12, already in Portugal, the whole scenario changed. I started to copy cartoons and it wasn’t long before I started drawing not only portraits but some drawings of my own. At 18 I met a graphic designer and his work just fascinated me. What if I could transform my drawings into a digital project? I learned to work with Corel Draw 9 and started to vectorize my drawings. Then I started creating flyers until I decided to create a logo for myself. Since then, I stopped creating flyers or drawings and started creating logos, always looking for improvements to the present day. I am guided by new ideas, ideas for improving what already exists and I like to help people wake up to a broader view of themselves. How did the idea for this project come about and how many people are involved?

Logothrive has been around since 2017 and works on creating logos for the desire to have my source of income. Only I work at logothrive, outsourcing with other professionals, who collaborate according to the size or complexity of each project.

What makes your company different from others?

Over these 10 years, I went from Logo Designer to Brand Designer. The difference is in the way I approach and direct each project. I apply the vision of an investor, partner, or client, instead of just being a designer who takes orders for what to do. As a result, the customer receives a professional logo, Visual Identity, Website, and a Visual Identity Manual for the brand.

What is the area of operation and to which audience is it intended?

Design consultancy focused on entrepreneurs.

What is the market need that your company wants to solve?

Clear positioning of the purposes and objectives to be achieved as a brand. It is not only necessary to have a good logo, but a company also needs a Corporate Visual Identity that promotes credibility, representativeness, and above all, facilitates consumer preference for its products or services. But for this to happen, it is necessary to understand the essence of the brand, in order to create the strategy even before the name, visual identity, or a website.

What was the strategy implemented to keep your company running with the covid 19 pandemic?

Maintain the routine and look for new customers. In a way, the pandemic did not change any LOGOTHRIVE routine, structure or direction, since the meetings were always held by videoconference and already have a design studio set up at home.

What advice or warning do you give other companies to overcome this crisis?

Do not panic, try to adapt to changes in the market, and take a close look at opportunities that may arise during the chaos.
